You are Special

In all the world there is nobody like you.
Since the beginning of time there has never been another person like you. Nobody has your smile, your eyes, your hands, your hair.
Nobody owns your handwriting, your voice.

You're Special.

Nobody can paint your brush strokes.
Nobody has your taste for food or music or dance or art.
Nobody in the universe sees things as you do.

You're special.

In all time there has never been anyone who laughs in exactly your way.
You're different from any other person who has ever lived in the history of the universe.
You are the only one in the whole of creation who has your particular set of abilities.
Nobody in the universe can reach the quality of the combination of your talents, your feelings.
Through all eternity no one will ever walk, talk, think or do exactly like you.

You're special.

You're rare and in all rarity there is enormous value and because of your great value the need for you to imitate anyone else is absolutely wrong.
You're special, and it is no accident you are.
Please realise that you were made for a special purpose. You have a job to do that nobody else can do as well as you can. Out of the billions of applicants, only one qualified. Only one has the unique and right combination of what it takes and that one is You.

You're Special

Being Responsible

You are the way you are because you chose to be what you are. No one forced you to be in a particular way. It was after all a way of being chosen by you and no one else. You may argue that I am “this” because that – ‘thing happened to me’, ‘person said me to do so’, ‘person did such & such thing to me’, ’I was helpless’, ‘luck did not favour me’, ‘situation was like that’ and ‘what not’… But at the end of day you ultimately have to take responsibility for your actions and also your state of being.

At times the actions we take are ex tempore. We may not even have a fair enough idea of the results our actions will lead to. We act in a flash of second. But still the fact remains that those were our actions and we and only we are responsible for the result that follows. Similar is the case of inaction. If you did not act upon a situation for any reason what so ever, you owe the responsibility.

Casting the responsibility of your state of being upon ‘someone’ or ‘something’ out there won’t do any good to you. Whether you are happy, sad, joyous, upset…. You solely are responsible. You are happy because you chose to be happy and similar suit follows for everything else.
You are not upset because of someone somewhere did something to you. It’s you who expected X and when X did not occur you became upset. A cricket fan is upset when India loses a match because s/he expects India to win. Had the expectation of win not been there, the upset would not have been there. One may argue that there is nothing wrong in expectations. True, there is nothing wrong or right in expecting. But then this very Expectation leads to Upsets which no man would enjoy & you are responsible for expecting.

No one can make you happy, you have to be happy. It’s not easy right – to turn a blind eye to what is happening around you and still be happy. Agreed it’s not easy but then is there any other choice. It’s not about partying out when things around you are gloomy. It’s about choosing to be happy rather than being upset.
There are few things about which you can’t do anything. Your boss will be the way he is and so will be your wife. You can’t change people. Each being is different and they have right to be different. The choice is yours – “accept the way they are” or “make your own life miserable by thinking about changing them all the time”
Ultimately whether you are happy or otherwise depends entirely upon you and you solely are responsible for what happens to you.

Excellence is not for someone else to notice

A man once visited a temple under construction where he saw a sculptor making an idol of God. Suddenly he noticed a similar idol lying nearby. Surprised, he asked the sculptor, "Do you need two statues of the same idol?" "No," said the sculptor without looking up, "We need only one, but the first one got damaged at the last stage." The gentleman examined the idol and found no apparent damage. "Where is the damage?" he asked. "There is a scratch on the nose of the idol." said the sculptor, still busy with his work. "Where are you going to install the idol?" The sculptor replied that it would be installed on a pillar twenty feet high. "If the idol is that far, who is going to know that there is a scratch on the nose?" the gentleman asked.

The sculptor stopped his work, looked up at the gentleman, smiled and said, "I will know it."

The desire to excel is exclusive of the fact whether someone else appreciates it or not. "Excellence" is a drive from inside, not outside.

Excellence is not for someone else to notice but for your own satisfaction and excellence..

Get up every morning to compete with only one person i.e yourself.

99% of our worries remain just worries!!!

I was in tenth standard then. It was a day before our dashera vacation would begin. All the students in hostel had left for their homes and many day scholars were absent too.. I never bunked school. When i reached school i was too surprised to see just two other friends in our class. Just three students was too boring.. We were asked to sit with Class IX and were given some maths problems to be solved.

We solved the problems (Same problems were given to both classes as SLC syllabus covered both IX and X standard).. and it was boring again.. somehow we managed to pass our the first four classes doing literally nothing... Then we three decided to bunk after the lunch break...I used to go home for my lunch.. It would have been easy for me not to come back but i had my bag with me.. There were two exit routes which i could opt.. It was very important that I make it as quickly as possible otherwise anyteacher could see me... The bell rang and i went off... As fast as i could and heart was beating real fast...I slept off after having lunch...

After I got up, i sat at the shop. The school got over soon and a friend of mine , Chyandru (IX) was returning.. I asked him whether any teacher enquired... He told me that VP, Ajit sir, had taken down the name of students who did not turn up after the class and they would be punished when the school reopens.

Both dashera and diwali were rocking.. Now the school was set to reopen.. It was the first day.. I was very scared... I was never called in the assembly or to the principal's office for doing anything wrong... I was really scared... The bell rang and we assembled... Ajit sir went to the dias with a piece of paper in his hand... I was terrified... That chit must contain our names is what i thought... National anthem and prayer.... I was too scared...

But...........It had some other announcement.... I thanked god and was relaxed.....

Moral : 99% of our worries remain as worries!!!!!

Visualise your goal..!!!

"You get what you want!!!!". This statement may sound weird but it has a lot of truth in it... When i make this statement, it does not mean that you will get all things which you desire.. simply because human desire has no limits... i dont mean that a person drawing Rs 10000/- p.m can buy a BMW just because he wants it..

The statement infact means that you will get those things which are feasible. If you need something make a concrete image of the same in your mind and work towards it. Giver everything for that particular thing and there is no reason why you cannot get it. Once you make an image in your mind, your subconcious mind will release energy which will be enough to materialise your dream..

In fact many asked me after my performance in CA foundation and CA Inter as to what was the secret of my success.. I did not have any definite answer then. Last year I happened to read "The power of positive thinking" by Norman Vincent Peale and I had the answer...

When I was in Class X, I always thought of securing the first rank in District.. I never thought beyond that.. the only goal was to secure District first and i got the desired rank in my district...

Both in my PU 1st and 2nd year (10+2), I had no concrete goals as such... I wrote every exam without and target in my mind... I had no competition in the class and i never thought beyond a class rank... Though I passed with 92% I was no where in the state rank list!!!!

I applied for B.Com in Badruka College of Commerce in Hyderabad and When the admission list was put on the notice board, i was at serial no 30... This infact was a sudden shock for me and I realised my mistake in 10+2...

Also my brother cautioned me that i might repent if i do not get a rank in CA exams... This time i had a concrete goal in my mind... I started working for a rank...

It was not that i got more intelligent suddenly. I almost prepared as i did in my tenth and twelveth but this time i had a goal as i had in tenth...

I also started visualising my rank.. How would others react?? How will my family feel?? It was just a imagination but yes i definitely worked for a rank..

Things did materialise on 13th July 2006 when i secured All India First Rank in CA PEI conducted by ICAI..

I dont say that just by Visualising your goals will guarantee hundred percent success but i definitely can say that having some concrete goals in mind will assist in achieving the goals...

Respect time and Time will respect you!!!!

When I was at school, the principal of our school mentioned the following line quite often :"Time and tide wait for none".. Over the years even i have realised , "Respect time and time will respect you".

I was quite a bit lazy in my school days and also in my intermediate college, though, many may not agree to it. When I got admission in intermediate, it was already a month late and then i had to undergo a surgery which kept me off the college for another month.. As the syllabus covered in tenth was advanced than what was covered in intermediate and I didnt find any difficulty in securing a good percentage and a rank in the class. The difference between me and the next student was about 15% which made me lethargic...

I just idled out my precious two years without even realising its value...

The time when i passed PE II and had to register for articles, i realised some additional courses would have added a lot of value to my resume... but it was too late to realise that... i had no time for any course... neither could i go back and use the time which i grossly wasted!!!

We all get just 24 hours in a day.. not a second more or less.. Finally the one who makes the best use of these 24 hours is the winner at the end... Lost time cannnot be regained neither will the world stop rotating for you,...

"...Respect time and time will respect you!!!"

"If you have not commited any mistakes, perhaps you have not tried anything."
Most probably Mistakes are integral part of human life and the best thing is to learn from our past mistakes instead of pondering over them. Einstein rightly said, " You can become and expert only if you can commit all possible mistakes in the least possible areas"

In the following posts i jot down those mistakes from which I learnt huge lessons in life...........
